Our Team
Marty Hughes (Bachelor of Physiotherapy, APAM) is a qualified, experienced paediatric physiotherapist. He worked with children aged 5-18 with physical disabilities at Nepean Special School and Peninsula Specialist College for 20 years, as well as working in paediatric community health in England. Marty is now working full-time as the Owner and Principal Physiotherapist of Peninsula Paediatric Physiotherapy.

Marty has a keen interest and expertise in the assessment and management of children and young adults with cerebral palsy, developmental delay, spina bifida, muscular dystrophy, traumatic brain injury and various other neurological conditions. This includes providing rehabilitation following interventions and orthopaedic surgeries. Marty has a close working relationship with the orthopaedic surgeons, paediatricians and physiotherapists at The Royal Children’s Hospital and Monash Children’s Hospital, as well as the specialists from the Young Adults Transition Service (YATS) at Monash Health, which results in optimal client outcomes.

Marty has extensive knowledge and experience in the provision of assistive technology for children and young adults with disabilities, including manual and power wheelchairs, pressure care cushions, walking aids and standing equipment, transfer equipment/hoists and slings, specialised seating, specialised bathing and toileting equipment, specialised beds and pressure care mattresses, orthotics and customised shoes.

Marty has a passion to help children and young adults achieve their physical potential and provide them with opportunities to connect with the community through participation in their chosen recreational and sporting pursuits.

Marty is a practicing Member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) and also a member of the Australasian Academy of Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine (AusACPDM).


Christine Tangey (Bachelor of Applied Science Physiotherapy, Certificate of Hydrotherapy) is a qualified physiotherapist who has worked with children with physical and intellectual disability at Nepean School and Yarrabah School and also has experience in working in the aged care setting.

Christine has a particular interest in aquatic physiotherapy, having gained her post graduate Certificate of Hydrotherapy in Bath, UK, and playing a leading role in the development and management of hydrotherapy programs in rehabilitation hospitals. She has experience working with children and adults of all abilities both “on land” or in the pool, including providing rehabilitation post surgery or injury or assisting clients of all physical abilities to achieve their maximum physical potential.

Christine is excited to be part of the team at PPP. Based in Patterson Lakes, she works out of PARC Frankston and Casey Race Cranbourne pools, as well as having a role in providing land-based therapy to clients at home, school or in adult day centres in the surrounding areas.


Jane Beed is a paediatric physiotherapist who has 15 years experience working with pre-school and school aged children (3 -18 years) who have physical disabilities. She completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2003, and has subsequently worked within both school and kindergarten settings across multiple special schools throughout Melbourne, including Nepean School, Glenroy Specialist School and Monash Special Developmental School. Jane has worked with children who have complex physical needs associated with various conditions such as cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, spina bifida, developmental delay, and other neurological conditions, and with children who have a wide range of intellectual abilities, sensory needs and behavioural challenges. She has extensive experience in the prescription of specialised equipment for children with complex needs, including wheelchairs, specialised seating, standing and walking frames and orthotics.

Jane has always worked within a multidisciplinary model with other therapists, teachers and families, so uses a holistic approach with each client. She understands that in order to achieve the best outcomes and the most appropriate solutions for children and their families, all aspects of a child’s life need to be considered.

Jane has two young children of her own and believes that therapy needs to be fun and relevant for children and their families, and should fit in with their daily lives, while meeting their needs and improving their quality of life.


Danielle Archibald (Bachelor of Physiotherapy, APAM) is a physiotherapist who started working with children shortly after graduating from university in 2011. In 2012 she started her career in paediatrics at Monash Children’s Hospital, and then went on to work at Glenallen Specialist School before heading over to the UK 2015. Danielle spent the next five years working overseas: first, across varied paediatric settings (hospital, rehab, community and schools) in London and later in a children’s hospital in Doha, Qatar where she worked with the Neurological Orthopaedic team. She returned to Australia in 2020 and currently works part time, at both Peninsula Paediatric Physiotherapy, and Monash Children’s Hospital in the Victorian Paediatric Rehabilitation Service where she leads the 2D Gait Analysis service.

Danielle has experience in working with children and young adults with a range of conditions and disabilities, with a special interest in cerebral palsy, acquired brain injury, other neurological/neuromuscular conditions, as well as rehabilitation following complex orthopaedic surgery.

Danielle understands that every family is different and she believes strongly in tailoring each child’s physiotherapy program to be relevant and important to the child’s and family’s goals. She is very excited to be part of the PPP team and to be working with children and their families in their home, school and community environments.
